Why It Matters
The past few decades have seen a multi-fold increase in cases of children and adults
going through stress, anxiety,
depression, loneliness and other mental and emotional issues. In our busy and fast-paced
lives, the chances of
parents, teachers, team members and family members missing out on these signs are higher
than ever. Additionally, most
of us are not equipped to understand and manage such social emotional issues, which can
cause long term harm to the
individual.
At Val-Ed, we focus on an integrated approach combining values, life skills and SEL and
making this support available
through a variety of ways to help individuals become resilient and happy individuals
living fulfilled lives.
While values focus on cultivating right behavior for good citizenship and ethics within
a society, life skills help
young adults reach their full personal potentials and prepare them for the challenges of
everyday life.
Socio-emotional learning (SEL) helps them to build self-awareness, relationship skills,
responsible decision
making, and social awareness that prepares them to be empowered human beings.
Numerous evidence-based studies across the world have proven beyond doubt the power and
necessity of these
interventions as we enter into the next stage of human evolution.
